I thought you might like to see these images of my horse, which I am using for the basis of my sculpture. The original "photo" was just a blurry video still, as you will see, with no definition anywhere, but it was closer to the pose I wanted than anything else I was finding, so I started playing with it. In the second photo, you can see how I altered the position he is in, then in the third, I roughly sketched in a skeleton to give me an idea of how to shape my armature. All this was done on the computer.
I will have to use other references to get the musculature, but a friend has sent me some photos of her horses in similar poses, and I have other things I can mish-mash together, as well. I now have clay, wire, and a starting place with my references -- very exciting!
I'm hoping to start making the armature tomorrow, and to start sculpting after that. I'll keep you posted on the progress!
